What You Will Do:

We are looking for a Human Resource Education Assistance Coordinator

The Human Resources Program Specialist administers the Employee Educational Assistance Programs. This position may also provide administrative support to the Human Resources Development Department.


II. Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.


1. Administers the Tuition Reimbursement Program for all employees at UMMC. Validates eligibility for program. Maintains records and files on all employees participating in the program. Processes reimbursement and advancement payments to employees and generate reports as necessary. Works with Payroll Department on the reimbursement processing system.

2. Administers the Continuing Education Program for all employees at UMMC. Ensures adherence to the policies and procedures regarding continuing education, processes appropriate pre-approved documents, maintain records on all expenditures, and generates report as needed. Works with the AP department to generate payments to vendors.

3. Administers the Dependent Tuition Assistance Program for all employees at UMMC. Processes reimbursement payments to employees and generate reports as necessary. Works with Payroll Department on the disbursement processing system.

4. Administers the School of Nursing Prepaid Tuition Program for all employees at UMMC. Ensures adherence to the policies and procedures regarding participation, processes appropriate pre-approved documents for payments to school, maintains records on all expenditures, and generates report as needed. Works with the AP department to generate payments to vendors.

5. In conjunction with HRIS and Payroll, work with terminating employees to recapture monies (received from any Educational Assistance program) that are due back to the organization.

6. Responds to email, telephone and in-person inquiries regarding Employee Educational Assistance Benefit Programs
7. Maintains database of participation in the Employee Educational Assistance Benefit Programs.

8. Maintains various department manuals, employee policies, computerized filing systems, employee confidential files and information displayed on UMMS Intranet in accordance with department procedures.


What You Need to Be Successful:

Bachelor's Degree

Two years administrative support experience in a business or health care environment. Knowledge of basic quality concepts is preferred.
